Subject: saving adjusted raw images

I've taken pics in raw mode on my Nikon D70 and uploaded to my PC. I then opened an image and made some adjustments and tried to save it as a jpg but am unsuccessful. This is my first attempt to working with Raw images using Elements 4.0. I didn't find any way to select jpg as a file format. Can anyone give me some pointers/suggestions?
PC is a HP Pavilion 3GH/512MB RAM running XP Home & there is lots of available space on the HD.
