Subject: Some ACR Questions

Previously I’ve found asking more that one question in an internet post gets only one answered the others ignored but I’m going to try. Please answer all you know and are willing to.

Question 1:
How do I set my preferences or the defaults for a new image in ACR? For example, the factory defaults are “Camera Default” and 25% sharpening. Assume I want it to start up initially in “Selected Image” (I don’t really know what that is) and 0% sharpening. How do I set these preferences?

On someone’s website they said to go to here and use Preferences. That dropdown on my version (2.4) does not have a Preferences option.

Question 2:
ACR seems to remember the adjustments I make to a RAW file, so if I load it again it applies them by default. It there a way to tell it to forget these and revert to the original conditions as though it were being entered for the first time? Does selecting Camera Default do this?

Question 3:
Who supplies the color conversion factors for a specific camera – the camera manufacturer or Adobe? Are these ever changed/updated?

Question 4:
Does ACR determine which camera conversion file to use by reading the EXIF data?
