I'm not sure what you mean by a meter that gives highlight and shadow measurements. I have a Pentax Digital Spotmeter that I don't use much anymore. Like Lawrence Hudetz's Gossen it gives me a number corresponding to zone V. If I want to place the exposure for zones VIII or IX all I have to do is increase the exposure by 3 or 4 stops.
I'm not familar with the Minolta meter, but what special facility does it have that my meter lacks? To me the concept is no different than shooting with Kodachrome. What is different with digital and what am I missing?
