Subject: Re: color matrix settings - how to display
The only camera settings that have any impact on raw images are the ISO,
shutter speed, EV compensation and f-stop.
All of the sharpening, color, compression, and other settings are completely
ignored when the image is written to the card. In that sense, you are
getting more of a true "negative" as opposed to an image that has been
processed by the camera.
That may be true for Adobe Camera Raw, but there is no reason that the raw converter can' read the image tags and apply them to the image in the same way that the in camera JPEG engine does. Nikon Capture does that and that is why I suggested to Jim that he try the Canon conversion sowtware. Perhaps a Canon user can advise.
