I'll second Rick's suggestion concerning the ColorChecker. Use either the second or third lightest grey patches to set white balance using ACR's **white balance eyedropper tool**.
Used correctly, the eyedropper will set the correct Kelvin temperature and hue with one click regardless of your camera settings and/or ACR default (as shot). Notice that the RGB values for the neutral patches will then all be the same or very close to one another. Any decent grey card will work, as well.
