Subject: Re: What does Nikon Capture 4.3 have that ACR does not?
the fisheye to rectilinear conversion for the 10.5mm Dx is a fine example
of what NC can do for just one specific nikkor lens. imagine if NC applied
corrections for all nikkor lenses?!
the closest equivalent for ACR would be Lightroom with a plugin for DxO
Another reason on why it is useful to have Nikon Capture. Another feature is the Nikon Control program that comes with NC. It allows control of the camera via an USB connection with the computer. It can be used for tethered shooting or to change the settings of the camera.
However, as Nunatak pointed out, ACR fits better in to the PS work flow. In my own work, I seldom use NC, but I do not regret its purchase.
