Art is right, his remark applies to the Macintosh as well.
The Nikon Software installs a Nikon-plug-in in Photoshop behind your back, without your knowledge and consent. You need to Nuke that sucker.
Make sure the path to the folder into which you're installing the Adobe Camera Raw plug-in begins at the root level, with the name of your hard disk, NOT your user name.
Make absolutely certain you end up with only one ACR plug-in, version 3.3. You cannot have more than one version.
