Subject: Re: RAW (NEF) to JPEG Queries in CS2
Thank you for your comments, Jim.
On my D70 there are only settings to shoot in JPEG S, M, L and then in RAW and RAW+JPEG. The only place there is a setting for 8 bit and 16 bit (that I can determine) is in CS2 when I open my NEF file. Do I just select 16 bit here?
However, despite this, can anyone else assist me with the size discrepancy between the two versions of Photoshop? The only thing that I can assume is that the RAW plug-in built into CS2 (with all its added features/flexibility) somehow strips my NEF files of some data as opposed to the basic Nikon NEF plug-in I have in PS7. I am (clearly) no computer whiz, so maybe that is a ridiculous assumption. Nonetheless, any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, Scott
