Subject: Re: Lightroom please?

nunatak, I just watched the video. It said that they were going to put a lot more metadata capability in. Also, it is clear that others see lack of crop & align as major omissions.

I'll just hope they get into the Windows beta. My interest in taking a beta version would be mainly to use it as a production version before the full release appears, rather than purely to test it! (Whoops! I've given the game away). So I won't take even a beta version without those features.

If Adobe fixes about 3 or 4 things which they certainly already know about, Lightroom will exceed all my expectations for where I hed instead hoped Bridge+ACR would go. And I had been a bit worried about whether I would need to upgrade Photoshop to CS3 to get new Bridge+ACR capability, even though I didn't really even need the extra features in the CS2 version of Photoshop-the-photo-editor. (I really just wanted Bridge + ACR 3.x, and then only for photographs, not all the other stuff). I suspect my future path is now mapped out!

I'm rarely at the bleeding edge, but at most an early adopter. I'm happy to watch this evolve, then take it when others have got the bugs out. Congratulations to the visionaries behind Lightroom.
