It simply means that the camera profile built in to ACR for that model has not changed since version 2.4. Some cameras have been re-profiled and if that is the case, you get the option of picking which version to use for calibration. Or in other words, it would give you backward compatibility if you had a lot of older images already edited and corrected based on an older calibration.
