Subject: Re: Camera Raw default settings with Canon 20D
To be clear on what calibration does - The Fors script deals with calibration in terms of adjusting (fine tuning) the behavior of the ACR built-in camera profiles. You end up with a set of values that are entered into the Calibrate tab section of ACR. These should optimize the color response of your particular camera in terms of how ACR renders color. Basically, it is attempting to correct for the difference (in some cases it can be significant) between your camera and the one that Thomas used to build the internal profiles. The script does not give you feedback on adjustments like “brightness” or any of the other settings under the Adjust tab. Those decisions will still have to be made after you have applied the calibration settings.
