If I recall correctly PhaseOne encrypts it's data. That's bad for purchasers as they're entirely dependent on PhaseOne for solutions. IMO users, for their money, should demand that PhaseOne offer, sooner rather than later, the option to save files in a portable format such as DNG.
For all the money a photographer invests in PhaseOne technology, they need to take that extra step and become more astute buyers. A classic case of caveat emptor.
