Thanks for the workaround, I'll give it a try and let you know how it
fares on the D2x. Not wishing to start this whole round of "right and
wrong" figures again but if I shoot the D2x with Auto WB the files look
much better in ACR than if I shoot with the other presets (Sunny, Cloudy
etc) or dial-in the Kelvin figure.
Perhaps auto WB is better because it does more than write a WB in degrees Kelvin to the file. Maybe it also encrypts information about the green-magenta axis.
Why would Nikon want to encrypt a mere degrees Kelvin WB? They were talking about protecting their intellectual property and proprietary algorithms.
