When I see people wishing that ACR produced results identical to NC I
can't help but think they're completely missing the point of what ACR
is all about.
to be fair though, at least that's a starting point the photographer is familiar with. if one shoots day in and day out with the same camera, they can't help but project what their images are supposed to look like--as facilitated by the LCD. as there is no ACR, or CaptureOne, or DCraw simulators built into the camera--nor for that matter Kodachrome, Ektachrome, Velvia or Royal gold ... it takes a while to build up a new DB of visuals to project off of.
