Silicon is red- and IR-sensitive, so the red channel typically is a bit hot.
Note that in any individual patch, you can usually find at least one level of variation in each channel. You could open the image in Photoshop and run the Blur>Average filter on each patch to iron out those variations, but I think it makes more sense to pay attention to the relationship of the RGB values for each patch than to the absolute numbers.
