Subject: Nikon NEF to DNG not working

Rather than upgrade to PSCS, I checked the forum and found several mentions that Nikon NEF files can be converted to DNG and then opened in Camera RAW 2.4.

I took a few test shots using a new Nikon D50, and used the Adobe DNG converter 3.3 (X43) converted them to DNG. The DNF converter said the files converted, and they certainly show up as DNG files. However, when I tried to open them in PSCS, I got the error message "Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document".

What am I not doing correctly?
