Subject: LARGE FILES option in Photoshop CS2

When i try to save file from Nikon camera NEF file i have a option of LARGE FILE....what effect will that have or what effect has the large the file ...the effect is?
Anyone can explain to me....
What difference will it make if i save image to 1.2 mb or 31.0 mb?
