Subject: .nef Icon Instead of Image in Bridge: Won't Open in Bridge or Photoshop
I've just started having a new problem in both Bridge and PhotoshopCS2 (both upgraded to latest spec's). I had to make a new "user" file to correct some non-CS2 problems. Almost everything is working now except:
When I use Bridge to go into a folder of images, originally processed in July, some open as images, but others open as .nef documents, not images. When I try to open them in Photoshop, directly, or double click on them in Bridge to open them in Photoshop I get the following Adobe Photoshop Message:
"Could not complete your request because the file-format module cannot parse the file."
I'm using the latest raw converter, 3.3, installed in the Library>Application Support>Adobe>PlugIns>CS2>File Formats folder.
The Application Support file is "owned" by "system", not by a user.
One thing I think is happening, the shots that are showing as icons and not images are those with corresponding .xmp files from when I originally processed them.
I've gone way beyond my abilities to troubleshoot here and hope someone can figure this out.
Thanks in advance.
Steve
