Subject: Top bugs to be fixed BEFORE new features are added, please.
1. Let us use negative values in dialogues when working in Picas. Move, Effect > Transform, Offset Path, and Effect > Convert to shape are some of the places this occurs. I discovered this in Illustrator 11. It is infuriating.
2. If the Layers palette is configured to Show Layers Only, then it is impossible to drag an object to a child layer directly.
3. Every time I launch Illustrator 12 (Mac or Windows) all the palettes are hidden. I must reload my workspace. Please keep the active workspace in the preferences or save a temporary one when we quit, then open that on launch. It's not rocket surgery.
Workarounds for all of these exist, but I do a lot of training. I'm finding it hard to justify Illustrator when I keep saying thing like "OK, here you have to enter the measurement in points and type the units because of another bug." Or, "You have to drag it to another peer layer, then to the child layer because of yet another goddam bug."
