1. As already mentioned, drawing and point editing tools that are illustrator-friendly (with a small i). Getting the basic drawing tools right is much more important than all the photoshop style filters and other stuff.
2. Multiple pages - no, not for page layout, that's what InDesign is for, but because it's an intrinsic part of the illustration process as anyone who uses a sketchbook can testify.
3-5 Repeat points 1 and 2 until you get to 5. It's a vector illutration program, if it could just do that simply, elegantly and efficiently that would be just great, anything else I'll do in InDesign.
