"Merge the damn arrows. One is enough."
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
First off, I rarely use the black arrow, but I'm always switching between the white arrow and the white arrow with the +. In fact, I'm a strong supporter of an additional two arrows to be added. One would be an arrow that would allow selecting (not moving) of locked objects and the other arrow would be to allow selecting of only whole objects that were inside of the selection marquee drawn. In other words, if I want to select all of the copy on the front of a bag, but I don't want to grab the dielines, background color, and other stuff that may get selected when I drag around just the copy, a new arrow tool could give me that power. I'm constantly having to hide objects, or lock objects just to get them out of the way of my selection area before I click and drag, that is if they are on the same layer that is. ;-)
