Clipping mask objects should transform and align to the edges of the MASK, not the edges of the objects being masked. And while they're at it, they should eliminate the behavior of accidently selecting clipping mask objects by clicking on the hidden part. In other words, make it work like Freehand's "Paste inside."
It's bad enough that it EVER worked in it's current illogical way, but it's intolerable that it hasn't been fixed after all this time.
