Subject: TIFF file number of channels is not supported

I get the following messages in my altercast log (AdobeGraphics Server 2.1):

[2006-01-25 11:00:17,843] [Thread-9] [DEBUG] Returning a SOAP fault: Could not open 'file:////192.168.16.104/dap-fs/dap_prd/data/15/1060615/HD799318.tif' because the TIFF file number of channels is not supported. Only 4 channels are supported for CMYK files.

Is there a fix for this? What do you suggest?
