There are some complicated interactions among commands. I'm not very familiar with this area and it appears that the samples don't have any complicated examples.
- First, I'm not clear if you're talking about page labels or page numbers. (If page numbers, I think overlayTemplates is the command you want.)
- assemblePDF and labels=continue
- insertTOC
- setPageLabels
- overlayTemplates which is used to cover up page numbers on existing content by overlaying them with headers and footers and adding new page numbers.
I'd start with overlayTemplates because it has several pages of explanatory material. If you don't have success after reviewing the docs for the above commands. I'd contact support if you own ADS (or your Adobe sales rep if you don't) and provide them with sample files.
