ADS is built on Acrobat 6.

However, you indicated the file is PDF 1.4 (Acrobat 5). So that wouldn't seem to be the issue.

If Acrobat 6 can't open the XFDF, there must be something wrong with the XFDF.
- How was it made?
- If you open it in an XML editor is it valid XML?
- A possibility is that it contains a bad carriage return.

Compare the XFDF made with Acrobat 6 and the problem XFDF character by character to see what's different about them.

You may have to contact support and exchange files with them.
