Subject: Re: Problem with importFDF using XFDF input
To see if a PDF is an XFA form:
- open it in Acrobat
- File menu > Document Properties > Description panel
It's not XFA, unless the Application and PDF Producer are listed as: Adobe Designer
Are you getting any warnings or error messages in your commandline window?
To troubleshoot, open the problem PDF in Acrobat and try manually importing the xfdf.
- Advanced menu > Forms > Import Forms Data...
(The wording varies slightly among versions of Acrobat)
If it doesn't work from Acrobat, the XFDF must be bad.
- Type some data into the form and export the data as a new xfdf.
- Now import the new xfdf using ADS.
- If the new version works, the problem must be with the original xfdf. Open it in a text editor (or even better an XML editor) and see if it's valid XML with the values you expect.
