Subject: Re: Converting PSD files created in Photoshop CS1

PSDs created in CS1 or CS2 are often not compatible with AGS. The more complicated the PSD, the more likely it is to be incompatible. Sometimes a CS PSD will process in AGS and then after a minor apparently inconsequential modification it will stop processing.

Layer styles can generate the "slices were in an unsupported format" error. Sometimes copying the contents of the problem PSD to a new PSD will allow it to process in AGS.

The bottom line is that it's safe to process CS JPEGs in AGS but not PSD files.
