There is probably a good reason why you wouldn't want to do this. But I have had success using the Image Processor to convert large numbers of raw images and DNG images to JPEG. Also, if you have Bruce Fraser's book, he shows you how to create a very simple action that will do the conversion for you. And, in my experience, the JPEG images from either one of these methods have always reflected the changes I have made to them.
