I am new to the DNG format & workflow, so I did a few tests- my original NEF file is 15.3 MB, using DNG converter 3.3, setting for compressed (with med jpeg) is 8.1, with a full size jpeg 8.9.

Not much bigger, but is there any advantage of a full size preview over a medium sized one? In iView, I could tell no difference. Where would a larger jpeg be apparent?
