Subject: Next Generation DNG to work with Lightroom

Having reviewed the Adobe LR Develop Video, I am encouraged that LR will extend ACR adjustments to JPEG and TIFF formats. I have one question about DNG however. My thinking goes like this. If I eventually edit my occasional JPEG format shots in an LR program I don't look forward to having sidecar files for these JPEG files becuase I can't place them into a DNG envelope. All my RAW files are converted to DNG. Ideally, I would like to see the DNG program set be extended to include JPEG and TIFF file formats so that LR corrections can stay with the file. (I don't feel the need to explain the benefits of DNG in this forum -- one obvious benefit is to have the tonal adjustments remain with the native image.)

So, do others agree that there should be some disucssion on extending DNG in a manner similiar to the LR extension of ACR features so that JPEG and TIFF LR adjustments can reamin with the native image?
