Subject: Best Retouch Tutorial/Book
Have been bouncing around looking at this book and that tutorial on photoshop for the highest-end pro photo retouching. A lot of good info out there, but they all seem to fall short of a complete understanding.
I've got a well-practiced eye for composition and all that. But because something looks good to my eye in RGB on a monitor, I can't completely rely on what I'm seeing to print properly.
I want to know how to save problem photos and how far can I adjust them before making it to where they print badly on professional level printers. I want to know numbers, sampling, smoothing value ranges that have gotten a bit posterized -- the whole technical side of it before I see a press check or proof.
Camera RAW definitely helps some issues, but I want to know how to maximize the benefit of even that, because even though one can adjust safely, it doesn't mean it will be adjusted best for when it prints.
I have CS2 Suite with OSX, so Camera Raw is the foundation.
Recommendations?
Thanks.
